47 years of Owls Head

On December 18th, 1965 Mr. Fred Korman opened the doors of Owl’s Head Ski Area for the very first time. What started as a hobby for this simple electrician from Mansonville has now grown to a 4 season resort that provides some of the best skiing in Quebec as well as one of the top rated golf courses in the province. With the help of his wife Lillian and daughter Caroll, Owl’s Head opened that first winter season with 2 chairlifts and 1 t-bar. Guests at that time were skiing on 6 trails which were laid out by locals and under the keen eye of Olympic Skier Bob Richardson. Keeping with the rich heritage of the region, the Korman’s decided to keep the native Abeniki name of Owl’s Head in respect to the ancient culture and the great Chief Owl.

Golf school and golf learning center

Owl’s Head also has a golf learning center which includes golf clinics for adult golfers and for kids of 6 to 17 years of age that would like to learn the game of golf via the « First Drive » program. The golf clinics take place outside on a natural grass driving range and full practice area.
